Modelling took 2.5 hours, rendered in Indigo 3.8.13 overnight, 35mins Post Pro (just now on my lunch!). I'm pretty happy as a sort of speed modelling / rendering test. There really isn't much detail in the model tho... it wouldn't hold up to any closer inspection!
Some new work
Re: Some new work
Saw a post on Evermotion yesterday that had a scene that won a competition for V-ray for SketchUp a few years ago. I had always wanted to have a crack at the scene in Indigo (mainly because I liked the house
) and seeing the image again yesterday spurred me into action. I couldn't find the actual model so I estimated it from the reference image.

Boxilicious! Looks really good for such a swift turnaround, nice one. Dat grass, needs a good trim though

Re: Some new work
Continuing my love affair with single point perspective! (and some heavy vignette!) Trying for quite a stylized look here.
*EDIT* Thought I'd show before & after shots to show the level of Post on this image. It's probably not to the taste of the purists, but I actually quite like this effect (occasionally..)

Some images of the fireplace / living room of Louis Kahn's Korman House. Was trying to do the whole house... but time... just no time...

Re: Some new work
These are nice renders, but I have say that I'm not quite buying the brick work. Can't really put my finger on why though, sorry for not being of much help. Also why is there virtually no shadow under the table?
Re: Some new work
i get what you're saying... Wasn't 100% on the brick myself... I think they look a bit 'flat'... lacking contrast or something... Dunno, I kinda gave up in the end due to time restrictions, but that brick should look better, I took me ages to make from individual brick images, is HUGE resolution... And yet.... Meh...Oscar J wrote:These are nice renders, but I have say that I'm not quite buying the brick work. Can't really put my finger on why though, sorry for not being of much help. As for the shadow and table... You'll have to ask the unbiased render engine about that!! No cheating from me, that's just the way it renders... Probably because the lighting is from the windows to both sides and not anything direct from above.
Re: Some new work
Out of interest does anyone know a good resource for really high res brick? I always struggle with getting a sample that's good enough for proper close up and is bigger that 2 or 3 bricks... For big scenes I normally like a sample a minimum of 3x3m, but I'd rather not have to change to a different, small high res sample for close ups... I normally use cgtextures, but I don't have a premium account (and at the minute can't justify the cost) but I'd love to know of some specialist brick resources!

Re: Some new work
I believe arroway has a few, but I am not aware of any good free ones. But then I hardly ever do that kind of stuff.
