amazing, the finals :D

I love that camera angle, philbo :)
a bit dark, though...

Dave, yours are very nice too, but philbo found a far better angle :)
therefore, yours isn't that dark.

I'd like to see the bright mats with the nice cam angle :D

I'll load the file in Violet tonight to see if I can adjust the colors with some burn / white balance changes.

Here are some updates. I was able to lighten up the colors a bit.

looks cool  the colours are just fine, now :D

the bloom, you used is a bit strong, though - interesting effect: looks foggy :D

PhilBo, I want your computers. :D And your eye for a good angle. I'm doing a ubuntu studio logo now. Have a look at the blend and see what you can do with it. It needs to have a very dark background with a blue logo.

You may very well be making my wallpaper for me! Mwah ha ha haaa

Anyone else is welcome to the blend file, too. It's attached.

I was already working on a very dark background version of the regular Ubuntu logo. Thanks for sharing the file.

I'll see what I can come up with and post back later.

For better effect, I scaled the height of the logo to half (Z, not Y)

cool - thanks DaveC

PhilBo - what sample counts per pixel do you reach in those latest pics above? Bidrectional MLT?

I need that kind of speed - I'm guessing a Q6600 quad core running at 3.2ghz would be close :)

I cannot remember, but it was around 2500 samples / pixel I think.
