StompinTom's Spring Dump
Hey hey,
I haven't posted any real work lately so here is a bunch of stuff I've done over the past month or two. It's a selection of stuff that I like better than the generic stuff that takes up a lot of my work. Some of them are work projects that I've decided to push a bit farther or recast into a different light based on what I want, not the client.
Comments/crits appreciated as always!
As usual, Blender + Indigo + Photoshop.

Hi Tom. The last 4 shots are amazing, really.
Wonderful colours and awesome composition.
In cam6 and cam2 I don't see a GREAT architectonic detailing, though overall sufficient to throw a good render
The organic environment does a significant job, I think. It's time for me to learn to export my SU models into 3dsMax
The last image is the best, in my opinion. Cam6 is the best balanced, instead. Congratulations!

Bonjour,
Renders are clean and professional, just impressive beautiful.
What is your technique for the green environment, trees and grass? directly in blender or photoshop?

Re: StompinTom's Spring Dump
Thanks, Pibuz! I admit, the detailing is lacking in those two renderings mostly due to time and a purposeful "vagueness" about what the cladding materials really are. I hoped the vegetation would compensate for that and sell the image! One thing I've been working on is creating a plausible context for the architecture in my arch. viz. A lot of the time it seems that a believable context can sell even the most boring or simple of buildings, at least visually. So I'm trying to develop the mood and surrounding detail of the scene, hopefully this will get better eventually.Pibuz wrote:Hi Tom. The last 4 shots are amazing, really.

I'm sure 3ds Max is easier for a lot of things than SketchUp and Blender, but I've been getting comfortable with Blender's tools and have got a pretty good way of dealing with large amounts of foliage now!
Thanks a lot! The trees and grass are all modeled. The only Photoshop work on most of these renderings is the sky and some background elements and color toning/contrast._cheers_ wrote:Bonjour,

I'd say you're getting close. I really like the third image.StompinTom wrote:One thing I've been working on is creating a plausible context for the architecture in my arch. viz. Hi, Tom,
those are colorful and positive renders. Especially:
citecol_cafextension_dusk2B_s.jpg - great composition
100622_lissongrove_cam6_s.jpg - plants are very realistic
