Hi!
I've got a laptop with an i5 processor and Windows XP, which I'd like to use as a network rendering slave. While setting up a Mac slave has been surprisingly easy, I don't quite know what to do with my Windows laptop.
I've been able to install Indigo, and I've registered it as a node. I click "start network slave", and the slave client starts, saying: "Listening on port 7100". I'm internet sharing from my Mac via airport, and the Windows computer is connected to it, so I'm able to surf on it. That was all I had to do using another Mac as a slave - connect to the masters internet sharing network, and then start the network rendering client. The Windows computer, however, shows no sign of connection - it just keeps "listening".
Thankful for any help!

Re: Using a Mac as a master and a Windows PC as a slave
Hi Oscar.
I have such a setup, I explain how I set up Indigo.
First, the Windows machine acts as the Indigo Network Manager. In every machine of your net you must configure Indigo to use the network manager (no master search broadcast, no use of floating license) in Indigo Preferences->Network. Fill the manager hostname with the IP of the network manager windows machine.
When you are ready to launch a rendering job, first open the Network manager app in the windows machine.
Then launch the rendering job in the master machine with Network Rendering enabled. You will see how this machine appears in the "Master" section of the Network manager app.
Then is time for launch the slave. It will appear in the "Slaves" section and it will load the secene and start to rendering.
Don´t forget to revise Firewall configuration in Windows, read this thread about the topic:
