iMac core i7 with 2GB vram, only 512 vram showing up

Post by bvz » Fri Oct 14, 2011 5:39 pm

I have an iMac running OSX Lion. It has an AMD Radeon HD 6970M with 2048 MB of vram.

Running the trial version of indigo RT v3.0.14, it only reports that I have 512 MB of memory (see attached photo).

Is this normal or correct?

Most probably a video driver limitation, updating drivers should improve or address this issue.

I am ignorant about the modalities on Apple computers; if, just like for windows, you can choose between AMD drivers and Catalyst you might expect better results from the later, reportedly.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into the driver issue, though I think it might not be an option for me under OSX.
