Texture mapping mm pixel ratio

Post by yannousfly » Sat Jan 29, 2011 10:30 pm

Hi ,

I didn't find how to control the ratio mm/pixel of a texture mapping when I create a new material.
Exemple : Starting from a photo of a wood flooring with boards of about 10 cm large. I use it (choosing texture in Colour (albedo) section and then selecting the good path of the *.jpg image of the floor). I render it and get a nice Indigo ball as I wished. But when I apply in sketchup this texture, how to say ...the boards are maybe 1 cm large. It is good for contructing a puppey house but not for modelling my house.
I tried to modify the resolution of the photo used but nothing changed.
I suppose that there is a way to control this feature.
More generaly, how indigo is performing the texture mapping? For exemple if later we have to shift the pattern of material after appliing it on a surface?

thanks by advance!

Skipped the Skindigo tutorials eh ?

No problem. The key word you're looking for is Texture Mapping or otherwise also known as UV mapping. The Skindigo tutorials that you can download from the Sketchup section of the Indigo web site include one for that specific task.
