Displacement Problems
Displacement Problems
I am using SkIndigo 2.4.4 with Indigo 2.4.6 and am having problems when trying to use displacement maps. Any time I try to render a material that has a displacement map applied, I have to set the max subdivisions to 4 or less or it will crash. The other problem is that when it does actually render it looks nothing like it is supposed to, having very strange patterns and colors. I included the rendered image of a test scene I set up, along with an image of what it looks like in sketchup and the packed indigo scene. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Displacement Problems
Hey Eric,
Indigos subdiv is broken since some time: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 387#p90387
During the last GPU beta versions it was broken even more, and now also generates artifacts if smoothing isn't used :/
Only way to solve this is atm is to subdiv the mesh in your 3D app...
A small tipp: To avoid the "breaking" of your mesh on the corners, you have to set "normal smoothing" in your 3D app to the max (no idea how this is called in SketchUp).
