Hello all. I wanted to make a scene with nice dusky atmo and emitters inside of them room but i stuck on one problem i found.
Using HDRI as environment is "overwepowering emitters" ? I tried to set HDRI`s exposure in photoshop to low values and set indigo`s light layer power to very low value too but it doesnt helped. Here are images.
Here is the simple environment color vs 3x60W + 1x 100W emitters. Everyting works like charm - meaning in ratio of power of enviro/emitters
Here is the hdri + same wattage for lamps
Hdri OFF in light layers
Same HDRi in Maxwell + same wattage for emitters
hdri as environment vs emitter power

I suppose that you did not, or could not change the map value from within Maxigo ? I definitely do not recommend editing the hdri map itself, assuming that this would only deteriorate its data.
I am assuming that you used the Reinhard tonemapping method (?) and that the env map is delivering a power much stronger than Indigo's skylight. You should then either disminush the envmap layer's value (the way to go to conserve the lamps power) or augment the emitters power or their layer value. That's a common operation in such a case. So common that I'm starting to believe that I may have missed your point...
My guess about MW is that it is auto-adjusting the envmaps power to barely match its sun+sky system but I can't tell for sure.

Maybe u forgot to remove exit portals.
Re: hdri as environment vs emitter power
nah, exitportals arent there. i solved this after speaking with Zomb. For correct illumination is needed to set up illuminance power under material with EXR loaded. Default illuminance is 8000, i set it to 18 and everything works but not correctly imho. I found that changing environment`s illuminance is affecting emitters power too. Its little bit disturbing.
