Very cool :)
Are you suggesting that they get sent off to the matchstick factory after they die?

amazing work!
I dunno, what you could do, to get that, but it would be even better, to close the circle^^ (no need to make the step, where you can see, how the baby started to exist, though... :?)

Sure ....but I d like to use the same lighting and background for all of scenes ... only some elements will be added but the scenes will stay "light" ...
For the lighting , I don t know ... Here is two meshlights ....maybe I ll try sunlight ....
some ideas ??

hi bobfr,

some ideas...

to the scene:
#1: i would make them standing on the same level/line. (e.g. lower the camera)
#2: imo the old manfred should be smaller (old people shrink). and it would fit better in the curve also.
#3: the opposite of #2, to fit better in the curve the match-stack should be higher.
#4: move the hand either forth or back so they dont touch like this. (imo)

to the lighting:
keep the studio lighting. you could try to make the meshlight in the back of the manfreds slightly blue and the meshlight infront of them slightly orange to signalize the past and the future.

to the background:
i would make a black (slightly blurry) reflective ground and a background similar to this . this will accentuate the curve even further.

--------
these are only some suggestions - do whatever you want with your already great scene

oh, yes, the old manfred indeed appears to be as big as the middle one, although he's bowed!

What's the line based on? I mean, if you paint it slightly different, the old one would fit into it as well as the matchsticks....

I see the point in the rest of the suggestion, though :)
good idea for the lighting :D

the curve i draw surely hasn't the best shape but as for now the original ends too abruptly. would be nice to see it fitting into a nice shape in the end.

Love this concept! It first reminded me of the ol' evolution-of-man pic. A couple of thots: perhaps instead of an "infant" you should use a sprouting plant/tree, along with a full-sized tree next to it. For the hand position that manitwo mentioned, you should have the "old man" figure using a match stick for a cane - put the hand in question resting on that.

Good work, tho! I also love pics that tell a story.
