Thanks a lot guys. Much appreciated.

CoolColJ: I remember your thread. I'll try that and see what it does...

The ventilation above the stove top range: Where does the smoke go?

No, seriously, you're right. I've got to talk to the bloody builders before my wife sees that.

LOL - Not trying to be a smartass, just trying to help you get a realistic result (If that is your aim). Am I correct in assuming this is not based exactly off an actual kitchen?

Sorry for sounding rude. I was just trying (and failing) to be funny in order to hide my embarrassment. Now without the irony - You're entirely right about this. It's a pretty major conception failure. And the worst thing about it is that I made this one before. I seem to have a problem with air ducts.
This is in fact based on an actual kitchen (if you look at the www.boffi.com website, they have amazing stuff), but I've taken some liberties with it, hence the mistake.

Still, even with a smoky kitchen, it is turning out nicely. It needs some improvement on some of the bumps, but I am sure that will be resolved before it is final. I don't have the stones to tackle a modeling job that big yet... I am still doing smaller simple objects.

there is such a thing as a ductless stove hood, simply uses a filter and blows the air back into the room 8)
cool render...
for the level of detail you have everywhere else, maybe you should go ahead and just model the joints in the concrete?
