Ah yeah, i recall i scaled the displacement down for the preview but forgot to scale it up againsuvakas wrote:I actually used displacement for the ground. It's the "Stone ground" material from the material database. Maybe it's too weak.

Online material browser inside Max doesn't show the name of the author.

Great one suvakas !
I'm curious about the technique/generator you used for the twigs.
@neo0.
Now that's better
I can't say I didn't rejoice myself by playing with MLT noise at some point, but it's quite an elitist art form; people don't want to be bothered with...

Thanks. Twigs are from a free XFrog plant/tree model i found from the net. I just scattered 1000s of them around the scene.CTZn wrote:Great one suvakas !

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
neo0.: yes, it was agfacolor-vista-400CD
suvakas: hey, yes, I see it now. Maybe it's because I started with 3D Studio Max and the logo is still in my head
...your scene is awesome
It has some post-apocalyptic atmosphere as for me, which I really like

Hey, neo0., man, if you make the liquid a bit inside the glass, it will look very good.PureSpider wrote:@neo0. pleeeease finally learn how to do proper liquids inside a glass...

suvakas, no matter how I look at it, I just cannot distinguish that render from the real world. Well done! I just can't wait when computers will be powerful enough to render a scene like that in real time like 60fps
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Thanks Jeff.
I can't wait for it either. If it ever happens...

Got my sun position tool working properly now....
I messed around with aperture diffrcation and added an alpha map of a fern leaf as an obstacle map and managed to produce a nice fireball sun effect.

Your "space mesh" is actually receiving light, and so it looks really odd. Also you may want to revisit your ships color scheme. In my opinion, orange-black-white make a weird combo (364/365 days anyway)

Very nice - personally I don't think it needs anymore stuff.Silmä wrote:A small interior scene i modeled and rendered today. Could use some more stuff on the foreground, i think.
I like the cold sterile feel the image has.
Maybe try and make the cuffs stand out more?. Not sure what material you've used but maybe try something more nickel/chromium like?
