Re: Simple Renderings Thread
No, they're made of a blend between diffuse transmitter and phong, which is a nice way to do a Leaf material. (For leaves with no thickness)

Sprite Test
(Actually, It's just the glass material with a higher IOR.)

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Hey, it's funny I was thinking at leaf shaders yesterday ! Notably, leaves have a different tissues on each side, so I was thinking that a sort of a blend material, but normal based, would rock ! What is called a double-sided material (SketchUp has this by default I think). Could ISL do ?OnoSendai wrote:No, they're made of a blend between diffuse transmitter and phong, which is a nice way to do a Leaf material. (For leaves with no thickness)
For instance the top material could be phong+diffuse_transmitter, and downside OrenNayar+diffuse_transmitter. The double material would remain visually consistent if correct blend values are used for each material.

...Uh! Yessa, and I'd like Indigo to make coffee sometimes, when it's really cold, you know..
Just kidding mate (CTZn): I just couldn't resist, sorry!

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
I mean what I said Pibuz ! I don't know if we can query normals direction using ISL but that might be enough to make that double sided material a reality...

Great Suv, thanks for your grass explanations, the best one I ever seen
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Shouldn't it be lower IOR? Glass is about 1.5 when water (or Sprite...) is about 1.3.Godzilla wrote:Sprite Test(Actually, It's just the glass material with a higher IOR.)

also his meniscus is very flat, his straw is droopy and the carbonation is like club sodaSilmä wrote:Shouldn't it be lower IOR? Glass is about 1.5 when water (or Sprite...) is about 1.3.Godzilla wrote:Sprite Test(Actually, It's just the glass material with a higher IOR.)

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
All valid points, the liquids IOR should be lower than that of glass, bubbles should in my opinion be more to the sides and maybe have clumps of them at the bottom (where the edge is). And straighten that straw!dmn wrote:also his meniscus is very flat, his straw is droopy and the carbonation is like club sodaSilmä wrote:Shouldn't it be lower IOR? Re: Simple Renderings Thread
The floor on the right side looks strange...
I try to find out what is the special story behind this image... master Ono posting renderings without showing new features... can't be!!!
Maybe some new sun system... the shadow on the let looks quite not so sharp (more realistic) like I remember Indigos sun shadows to be... hmmmm
