I watched the video and it's stunning! It probably took you some time to render that animation. I also like the last image.ENSLAVER wrote:A couple of random renders and a short animation in anticipation of the GPU version, just for fun test, I missed out a decent chunk at the start. I will re-render it with a better texture when I can speed it up with the gpu. Only 300SPP/frame.

Nice image Tom. I like the composition. Just wondering, is that file you mention the .igs file?StompinTom wrote:Grass!Sucks that adding 100 000 instances raises the file size from 4 Mb to ~27 Mb .

Thanks. Yep, that's the .pigs with everything in it. There are no textures, just instanced grass and discombobulated/greebled stuff.Jeff wrote:Nice image Tom. I like the composition. Inside flux capacitor, lol, still needs more work. Fun to render though.

Two simple images of two buildings we're designing in Cortina d'Ampezzo, near Belluno.
Difficult project, easy images. No materials applied, excepted the metal for the gutter pipes and the chimneys, and the emitter replacing the glass. 8 hours of calculations and no noise. BiDir PT. I'm happy.

The flux thing was about 12 hours (phenom x4 9950) All the materials were glossy, hdri outside, used real glass on the front, and about 18 spheres with a light material inside the sss tubes, lots of dof.neo0. wrote:Enslaver could you give us an idea of your render times?

tips : try to use carpaint from material database and tweak it for your needs, and wheels needs more reflection (chrome and rubber parts).
