That is three hours work!?

I find that impossible to believe. Something like that would take me forever! Sorry I can't help with the car IOR problem.

I understand now. It's because I read "commercial model (bought)" but it didn't register in my brain! I thought you modelled the car! lol. And, believe me, I understand all of the differences between indigoism and yafrayism.

Well, 31 days if you render it alone. Let's say two weeks with help. Unless you get it 100% noise free, I think you'll get a pretty loud, old-camcorder-ish picture when you line all these frames up for animation.

you know, we saw it in optics, a chapter of physics. the IOR of glass IS 1.57. we had to calculate that
If you didn't put, like, five windows in a row I don't see how they give those weird pieces.
very nice model.

@radiance: I think your car is filled with glass

. Are you sure that car windows have a defined thickness?

two things:
1) The car model looks great, however it to have tires attached to body, just hanging from it, not supporting it. Make the bottom of the tires balloon slightly .
2) I wouldn't attempt to render an animation at 800x600 anyhow. try about half that (which quarters your rendering time, too) Consider how big every video you've encountered on the internet is. Keep the download size to a minimum, too. 25 FPS x 10 is already 250 frames, too. Bleh.
