Thanks in advance
Can Sketchup import obj format?
I think it doesn't fit into 3ds. It was over 70k polys, if i remember correctly. Will check when i get home.

No multiple scenes output or something like that. Animation is build into Max exporter. It exports a new frame as soon as the previous frame gets done. Everything is automatic and igs scene requires the same amount of disk space as for still image rendering.
Finally I used VirtualDub to render the png files into *.avi
So all you need for doing animations in Max is a fast cpu - which i don't have

Thanks!

@luqui82
Here is the model for you in obj format.
There are some f***ed up vertexes though. I have no idea from where those came from. But maybe you can still use it.

Did you also use exit portals?
Sry, missed your question before.
Yeah, there is an exit portal on the window opening. Scene is lit by blue background color.

I used VirtualDub Mod v 1.5.10 (standard veresion doesn't support png i think)
You can get it from here:
http://virtualdubmod.sourceforge.net/
png filenames must contain framenumbers. They should be in correct sequence. Then you just open the first frame (in my case greeble_frame_0000.png) and all the other frames are loaded automatically. After that it's just a mather of picking the codec and saving as avi. You can also change the frame rate under video/frame rate... I used 25 cause mine was done using PAL format in Max

What did you use to open each igs file, render it, and then move on to the next??

There are no multiple igs files. Only one.
I'm checking from maxscript if Indigo is running and if it is not, then I'm exporting a new frame + I add a frame number to output image name. That's it.
