Well the best would be something that could export to illustrator format. But powercalc is ok for now. Thanks, LOTR Junkie.

Good news, GraphCalc can save the graphs it generates to .BMP!

great :D - you should zoom in, very close to the bottom part, as it's all, you'll need to generate the lens ;) (the "cap" of the parabola is enough ;))

The two packages I named above are just 2 of many optics design softwares out there, you can go crazy but I'm guessing the more complex the lens = orders of magnitude to your rendering time. (the advantage being they have a boatload of predefined formulae just waiting for you to input parameters.)

Very nice!

Or you could use python in blender, that's how I have made parabolic curves before :) Removes any error of doing things by hand.
pretty fucking sweet! weird how its illuminating such a big area on the floor though... shouldnt it just be lighting up a tiny spot if its so focused?
The focus point is above the floor.

I'll write one tonight for you. It's pretty simple, particularly if you just make it in 2d, then spin it & remove doubles.

yes, I know^^
I used the Open Sourced Prog, that I posted, but it came out wrong :S (and as I used far too many details - as usually  - I wasn't able to model any scene features, besides the lens, with my really huge amount of RAM (768 MB xD))
