Another pool scene...

Post by DaveC » Fri Mar 02, 2007 12:27 pm

Well, I'm nothing if not lacking in inspiration. And this was a good reason to try out the displacement modifier in blender :D.

Please bare in mind that this is only the beginning of this scene and I know there is a lot of work to be done such as tiles and, erm, stuff.

Any suggestions are, as always, more than welcome.

Here's an early render:

Update:The render as it stands..,

I am doing different lighting and different viewpoints too. There are six spot-lamps in the pool floor which give quite a nice effect ;)

I love the rubber ducky.

Did you model that yourself?

Keep up the good work :)

I've updated the image in the first post with the final render of the first image... :?

I've also just confused myself.

OK. I need help with the next step. I want to have the .exr illumination, but I also want the six lamps in the bottom of the pool to be lit. And I don't know how to do it. Any help?

I think you have to set gain to a crazy value, dunno if that's for exr map or meshlights. Also try both tone mapping schemes.
