Yeah, its simply not possible, the HDRI Dome just simulates a 3D Space from a 2D image,
so you have to go multipass the ground shadow :?
As I told a invisible shadow catching material would solve this :D

You also can solve this Problem like Jurasek did for his Orgasm on wheels!

hmmm

my car is actually my second one, too. did a BMW M3 (bmw rulz; i never rendered it, though, mesh is still somewhere around on my HDD)

brushing my teeth while writing this :P

wasnt there a request for a compositing material that catches shadows?

but for now i think it will be just fine with the scene im modeling
