the model and dof are great! but the overall saturation and brightness is something
you could work on. You probably could make a pinboard instead of that grey "floor".

I like the idea, but the DOF is too strong. Looks a bit un-natural to me.
I'm also with manitwo about raising the overall exposure level.
Looks good otherwize!

I also think, the DoF is to strong... It looks a bit as if the upper part of the focused pin is from another image glued to this one, as the tip is already blurred too much.
But else, it's very well done.

shallow DOF gives the sense of macro photo, imho
