Hi all,
I now have this repeatable bug:
I use the "auto log-in" option. When I go to the website, it recognizes me successfully : "You are logged in as galinette". But when I try to reply to a post, it asks me a login and password. And then, if I enter them, I am told that my login/password is incorrect. I have to log-out, and re log-in manually on the top banner, in order to be able to reply.
I use firefox 3.6.3 under windows XP. This happens on my two machines (can it be due to the fact I auto-login from two different machines?)
Regards,
Etienne

Re: Login issues
Noted and added to our bugtracker, this is quite high priority; thanks for the repeatable steps!
Re: Login issues
Hmmm... This is strange. It happened all the time yesterday and happened again this morning. Now, I'm trying to reproduce, and it does not happen again... Maybe it requires a cookie to be outdated to happen. I will keep testing.
However, one thing seems to be very repeatable : when I try to reply when not logged in, it asks me for login/password as expected, in a form which is different from the standard login form. And this one never works (always says me my login/password is wrong, and that maximum number of retries has been reached, with a anti-bot text recognition image). So I always have to log-in via the main banner.
So it seems there are two independant bugs :
- The login form when you try to reply which never works for me
- The "already logged-in but prompted to login when replying to a post" which is likely related to cookies and maybe to multiple computer users with autologin, but not easy to trigger intentionally.

Re: Login issues
I keep getting in both IE and Firefox
It says I'm logged in but I can't post. I have to log out and then come into the forum and re log in etc

Re: Login issues
I suppose that Drupal and phpBB (or whatever you are using) have different cookie expiration times?
Front page just said I was logged in but the forums didn't.
Edit: ... after I had been absent for a while.
