Yes the site looks cleaner but way less practicable to me, I'm seeing much less images than I was before the automated reduction.
My prefered behaviour for this would be to load the image automatically into a new window/tab, just not to have to load the thread page back.

Have you tried dragging the image onto the new tab button?

Doesn't work, the pointer shows a "forbidden" sign. Even after I created the tab. What's IE8 behaviour on this regard ? Can't install it until I reinstall XP (soonish methinks).

Just tried, IE8 opens the image in the current tab, no matter where on the tab bar I drag it.

Funny. With IE7 when I middle-click on an image it opens in a new tab. Well, the prompt to wether open it with the default application or save it, does
