SkIndigo 2.0.8
SkIndigo 2.0.8
Here is an updated SkIndigo BETA that will work with Indigo 2.0.8. The primary goals were to make the Mac version usable and improve the overall stability (less rendering errors, etc.)
Not all features work yet on Mac. Here is what does NOT yet work:
- Material Previews
- Export, Launch Indigo, and Render (You must click the 'Render' button in Indigo for the scene to render.)
- Material (IGM, PIGM) loading
- Animation Export
#Version 2.0.8
#Added: Exporting Sun, Sky, and EnvMap layers
#Added: Motion blur - still has some bugs, needs better UI, access by right-clicking context menu on an instanced group or component
#Added: support for Supersample factor
#Added: support for Info overlay
#Fixed: Errors with duplicate material/mesh names
#Added: Animation to UI and support for Sketchy Physics Animation (in SkIndigo menu item)
#Fixed: Default UVs should now be properly exported even for textures applied to groups or components - should eliminate Indigo UV error messages
#Removed: Resume render menu item - use Indigo GUI instead
#Fixed: MDB preview scene
#Changed: more Mac fixes
#Changed: batch file no longer used to launch indigo
#Fixed: instancing of groups
#Changed; now export meshes file and scene file (instead of settings file and meshes/instances file)

Advanced Features Tutorial (WIP)

How to use Motion Blur:
Motion blur still needs lots of work and a better user interface. However, you can play around with it by following these steps:
1) Create a group or component
2) Right-click menu and enable instancing
3) Right-click again and 'set keyframe'
4) Enter 0.0 to set the first keyframe
5) Move/rotate the component to a new location
6) Right-click again and 'set keyframe'
7) Enter 1.0 to set the last keyframe (or an intermediate keyframe)
8) Note that you must set a keyframe at 0.0 and a keyframe at 1.0 for the motion blur to work.
9) There is currently no way to 'jump-to' existing keyframes
Please let me know of any bugs.
Enjoy!

Thank you Whaat!!!!
Definitely time to start playing with this bad boy.
Just Installed. Thank you again.
A little suggestion: I assume that the current automatic splitting of sun and sky layers actually forces to a double RAM usage. Sometimes users don't need to separate the two layers, but at the moment they have to, resulting in a bigger RAM drainage, which will cause a possible reduction of the output.
I suggest that one could CHOOSE to split sun and sky, maybe via a check in the environment tab.
By default they're ONE SINGLE LAYER (standard RAM usage): if anyone wants to split the layers, he knows that it will be heavier, RAMwise.
I think this one would be a good optimization.
Obviously, I don't know if anything that i said is possible

Pibuz,Remus:
Did you guys remove the old SkIndigo installations before installing the new one? Try wiping everything SkIndigo related from your Plugins folder and re-installing.
Has anyone got the latest version to run smoothly?
I hope this is an installation issue. We are working on an installer for SkIndigo that should be available for the next release.

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.8
Definitely not a installation error: I've done thousand of installations and I feel quite sure I'm doing it right. BTW, I re-installed it carefully, but I get the same messages. I attach the two UI i can call.

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.8
Hi Pibuz,
What is it that you do to make these windows pop-up? Whenever you open the SkIndigo Material Editor or by pressing a button on that dialog? ... very interesting

I have the same problem
Re: SkIndigo 2.0.8
As do I.
Rendering straight from SU works now, though. Which is cool.

Hi CP!
I get that popup window whenever I call the material editor, either via double click and y custom combo ctrl+M.

Re: SkIndigo 2.0.8
Hi guys,
For those who are getting errors, please try this:
Rename the file 'skindigo.rb' to 'SkIndigo.rb'
Rename the folder 'skindigo' to 'SkIndigo'
Also, please confirm that you do not get these errors using SkIndigo 2.0.4.
Thanks!
