Hi first time around here. go easy.
How can I make this lamp shade (in attached image) to look like a fabric rather that opaque? I'd like too see a 'glow' come out of the white colored fabric.
This is one of my first renders using Indigo (and SkIndigo)
Thanks!

Well,
There is one thing you can do that can give decent results in Indigo 0.6. Try making the outer face of the lamp shade an emitter itself. You will have to play around with the gain and tonemapping settings until you get the look you want but it can be done. Check out this post to see what I mean.

Hello again,
Here is a lobby that I am working on. The art work (a jpg in sketchUp) on the left didnt show up (you can see a black frame). The jpg is set as phong (specular = 1.0, exponent = 50, fs=0.8 and no bump
Please give me feedback and suggetions on improving the render. Lighting/material texturing/settings/ etc.
Transluency in skIndigo will be cool. The panel on left is a 3Form panel to screen the mailboxes
Here you can see a real application of the panel

What would be your suggetion to generate a 'look' like in this example?
In my render, I had set it as glass with IOR = 1.3 , bump map with value .01 and behind the screen there are two hanging light fixtures. I guess what I'd like to achieve is a soft light 'coming through' a milky-white plastic screen. Is it again SSS that I need over here?
Thanks!

You could try using a more detailed bump map (eg with smaller bump features) Also try reducing the bump amount from 0.01 (e.g. to 0.001)lrsuser wrote: What would be your suggetion to generate a 'look' like in this example?
