Hi Pibuz & kwistenbiebel,

And, last but Not least !

If Max Subdiv more than 8, error message comes up ! Indigo then end .

What is the standard res texture map (for a distance or close up) is suitable for displacement, bump, etc, please?

Thanks

Oscar
* Need more test upload with different texture and parameter study .

hey Oscar! nice tests! :) the sketchup brick texture certainly leaves something to be desired ... it seems too blocky and pixelated ...

otherwise, keep it up! it is appreciated :)

Hi Cpfresh,

Thanks for your help, too! :D

Hope that the test can find out more standard parameter for SKindigo displacement texture map parameter setting ( easier & less setting ).

I maybe wrong  , but I thought the setting of the dis. texture map is only the setting of the thickness or height which I want.
And the Max Subdiv, Pixel Threshold and Curvature Threshold setting are depand on how far is the distance( or how clear ) between model and camera.

The Max Subdiv is the setting for how "nice" you want the final to be.

The higher it is, the more Indigo subdivides the mesh (I think), and the more memory is used, hence the crashing or error message. I can only get to 8 also.

I'm not sure about PT or CT.

I agree with Crojack.
The higher the Max Subdiv, the nicer the final and more memory is used !

So, I think that if the model is far away from the camera, the lower the Max Subdiv for less memory is used. If it is close up model, ONLY the higher the Max Subdiv need to be.

And it may be calculated( the distance between model and camera ) and preset during SKindigo link to Indigo ? :?

I don't this the MaxSubdiv is the problem, and i;d rather have control over that. it's the PT and the CT that seem to be some problems. see the other thread.

The MaxSubdiv setting can already be controlled based on distance to the camera - use Pixel Threshold.

hi all. i tried my hand at another brick texture and had relative success. i think the displacement is pretty good but the texture color is pretty screwed. the main problem ive had is apparent in the images below ... the uvs dont seem to be getting referenced/saved properly -- check the left wall.

Whaat as far as i know, i've loaded each texture and saved it as i should but for some reason the left wall texture will not stay put. take a look below. help?

*edit*
forgot material settings
Max SubD 9
PT 0.0
CT -1

Db 0.015
Dc 0.0

ok so i got the brick texture to move over ... but only by creating a duplicate material (same texture, same size, different name) and then positioning it and saving it. unfortunately, the corner doesn't stick together. see below:

hey cpfresh.

Ono has been messing around with the UV code. Do you get the same results when using 1.1.1-1.1.4??

hey Whaat, I didn't try these scenes in any version but 1.1.5 ... let me get settled here at home and I'll re-create the scenes and give it a test on the previous versions!

Hi Zsouthboy,

Could you further explain this, please?
What is the relation between MaxSubdiv and Pixel Threshold ?

"The MaxSubdiv setting can already be controlled based on distance to the camera - use Pixel Threshold."

Thanks
Oscar

Whaat
i tried the same scene on the earlier versions of Indigo and they all resulted in the same image/stretching issue. D:

Whaat
with the latest SkIndigo 1.1.5 release the uv positioning seems to be working great. my early stone wall tests are working fine now with the exception of the corner seams being torn. im going to experiment a bit more to what else i find.

look below for images, start at bottom.
