a little bug

Post by Pibuz » Wed Jan 23, 2008 11:20 pm

Hi all!
I think i've spotted a little bug..

I've selected a certain kind of tracing method (i think it's PT, i'm gonna be more precise later) for rendering a scene, then i wanted to make a measurement of a SketchUp edge: the red dot of the START MEASURE POINT didn't appear! The second one did, instead.
I tried also doing a line, but i could not point precisely the starting point of the new line on the ending point of another one, because i could not see it.

I tried the RESET CAMERA option, but it didn't solve the problem; then, selecting a MLT tracing algorithm all worked out fine.

It seems that the particular tracing method "deletes" the first point "snap" of sketchup commands..

(Did i explain myself enough?)

Well I'm not a SketchUp user, but I didn't understand anything!
Maybe a picture will help a bit more?! ;o))

take care

sounds more like a SketchUp bug than anything else.

If you could provide a repeatable sequence of steps that shows the 'bug' I will look into it.

I've noticed this same issue and it seems to be related to having your camera settings applied. You know when you set your render image size (example 640x480) in our Skindigo settings dialog and then click apply and you get your image framed out ... well once that has been set, the snap-to feature of Sketchup seems to be dinked and no longer functions like normal. It is simple enough to restore by just going back to the Skindigo dialog and hitting reset camera. Then the little red dot returns and all is well and good in Sketchy-land. Is this the same thing that you've found?

I've lost the snapping too in Sketchup, but I don't think I was working with an image to render. I just thought it was Sketchup getting buggier with each release.

I have noticed similar behavior too. Its the inferencing in SU that goes bonkers!! And its quite erratic and difficult to recreate. Seems to kick in with heavy files though. My work around has been saving a page/scene where 'indigo width' is set to '0' "(i.e. no black bands on the sides on up/bottom) and draw in that page/scene only.
This has always worked for me!!
