Convert Skindigo generated IGS file to "real" IGS file

Post by Automation » Wed Apr 02, 2014 1:10 am

Hi,

today skindigo does not support all features of Indigo. For example "invisible to camera feature" or "shadow catcher material". But if i open the scene file, which was created by Skindigo, within Indigio I have the possibily to modify these settings. After I save the new settings in Indigo, the formerly generated IGS file is totally changed. This real IGS File contains for example the "<invisible_to_camera>true</invisible_to_camera>" XML tag.

So I have the following question:
- Is there a possiblity to convert the Skindigo generated IGS File to a real IGS file via Command Line?

This would be very helpful because I could modify the IGS files afterwards with a small script to set the required "invisible to camera" parameter. To open each Skindigo generated IGS file in Indigo and store it would be really time expensive because I will have more than 500 Scene files

I already checked the Indigo technical reference but not find a solution to convert this file automatically.

I hope someone can help me.

Many thanks and regards

Hi,

This is XML, and some tags are optional, such as <invisible_to_camera>. There is no "wrong" and "real" IGS formats : some tags are optional and omitting them just lets indigo take the default value.

If you can make a script which modifies the <invisible_to_camera> tag, could you just make a script that inserts it instead? This will work as well.

Hi galinette,

many thanks for your fast feedback. I just added the required XML Tag in the Skindigo exported File and it works. So I have a solution :D :D :D
