Camera issue with scaling

Post by CoolColJ » Wed Sep 05, 2007 3:37 pm

This is a CGSphere scene - actual unit size is 20cm, well I'm using cm as my C4D units

exported out as 1.0 global scale multiplier , the scene is sharp, but then object is large, autofocus set to 41.01653 m. by Indigo

when I change to global scale multiplier to 0.01 to account for the cm units.
Autofocus is set to 0.41017 m, which is right.

The image is blurry due to the depth of field, but the aperture_radius (lens radius) of 0.002 is the lowest you can set it to in Cinidgo.
When I manually edit the scene file to to divide the aperture_radius by 0.01 as well, So it becomes 0.00002 then it works.

So I think you should also scale the aperture_radius (lens radius) as well by the global scale multiplier value to keep everything consistant

also when I scale up the scene by 1000 some strange things happen
same issue here
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... sc&start=0

so ray_origin_nudge_distance has to be scaled as well

Fuse

are you sure shutter speed does anything in Cindigo?

I've changed it and exported out different files, and I do not see any changes in the image with lots of depth of field

Blend material is broken I think - I can't get it to work
I create 3 materials in C4D, assign all 3 to 3 different material helpers. One is a blend material - then assign the 2 blends to the Blend material
Export out, and it never shows in the scene file

anyone have any luck?

i think i implemented it right, but have no idea if it has any visible effect. ask ono :)

about the scale:

the image scale_0.01.JPG is the real scale one, is it?

the unit of the aperture radius is in m. 0.002 m are 2 mm. so in fact its works the way it should. (and it isnt that burry)

for big global scales: ill implement that ray nudge get scaled by global scale, too.

about the blend mat: ill have a look at it

image scale_0.01.JPG is the scaling I would normally use since I set my C4D units to cm. So to get that to scale properly to 1m units in Indigo I would have scale by 0.01. With these units the sphere is 20cm in diameter.
If I have metre units, then to get 20m down to 20cm in Indigo I would need to scale down to 0.01. So it looks to be the correct scale...I think
The back wall is 80cm away - does that look right?

another question Fuse

Are Polygon selection tags for an object, for assigning material, supposed to work with Cindigo into Indigo?

Hi ciccio,

[indigo render settings tag] --> indigo render settings --> render mode --> pathtracing mode only !

you need to handedit to add the gamma value in that line :)

I wonder, if it simply was possible, to say "gamma = 1, if gammatag is missing"
