At the moment it seems there´s not so much missing in the exporter when it comes to implementing C4D-stuff.

So what´s the next logical step ? What´s missing that Indigo has and C4D doesn´t need to export from a model ?

Michael

P.S.: Dang, I still haven´t figured out how to set up that Indigo cam for 9.1 which was provided by Wlad

Making it easier: If a serialized system is implemented where, like Cinema, each material is unique (I think that already happens with objects) then it wouldn't really matter if materials had the same name. As such multiple versions of Cinema could take advantage of it. You could just throw materials without caring with their names, I could do the same, and could organize them in a tree like fashion on layers. ;-)

yes, that already happens with objects. i thought about doing it the same way with materials back then... and i decided against it (for a good reason :) ). but seeing the problems this causes (unique material names and so on), ill probably change it.

edit: i always see ppl having problems with new versions of indigo, because they have to edit text files which specify where indigo is located (blender, su). you C4D folks is a lucky bunch! :D

Well, if they are serialized and the main name remains it could be kept so that some adjustments could be made onto xml itself, even if the best option is most of the times just re-exporting from cindigo.

Water never more will be water, nor aluminum, nor gold... That's something that crossed my mind. If doable the best option would be checking if the material is repeated, if not it would stick to the previous model.

added: Or perhaps allowing to stick with the name choosen
