everything is working like a bomb!

Just one important thing i have noticed:
i had a material ( emitter with Tabulated Emitter; Daylight CIE).
When i write in start wavelength 038E-06 and save it as pigm and import it again, then the start
is at 380nm. when i start rendering i get a failure.if i rewrite it to 038E-06 again and start rendering everything is fine.

Allothers are working very good!

Thanx fused i wont forget that.

What's the history behind this... could you elaborate on that? How did you do it, and benefits?

Hi Pixie,
i didnt exactly understand what you write.
Do you mean what daylight CIE is or do you want this Background material as Pigm?

In all material types you can set Emitter on.
There are several modes to set the color of the emitter.
One mode beside the rgb-mode is the Tabulated spectrum mode.
There you can write the start and the end of your "realworld measured" color. Additionaly you write measured peaks between the start and end points.
So whats interesant in this. There are a lot of measured data for Emmitercolour and diffusecolours.
These can be used as data for emmiters on all channels or specular materials.
So i had some realworld measured data for Daylight CIE. The International Commission on Illumination (CIE) has normed these standards.
This can be used as a background-material.
I tested it and it really looks better than an unifrom background-color.

Neat!! :) So there's only some questions left. Where could one find those values and how does one convert those into meaningful indigo tabulated values.... do I smell tutorial? That would be cool! :D

Check the gemstones in the mat db.
There is a link in the description of the Saphire, Fancy Yellow Diamond, ... materials.
Those are absorption spectra.

Ok here are some from Whytraven:
http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... php?t=2838

and here are some from KC1:
http://radsite.lbl.gov/mgf/materials.html

" a source of tabulated spectra materials in radiance mgf format.
http://radsite.lbl.gov/mgf/materials.html
For explanations on format: http://local.wasp.uwa.edu.au/~pbourke/d ... html#begin

for example:

c Small_magenta_flower_(from_vine) =
cspec 400 700 0.0788 0.1019 0.1203 0.131 0.1352 0.1363 0.1311 \
0.1206 0.1051 0.0895 0.0762 0.0663 0.0576 0.0516 0.0483 \
0.0472 0.0478 0.051 0.0576 0.071 0.0952 0.1278 0.1593 \
0.1859 0.2109 0.2392 0.2672 0.2794 0.2966 0.3603 0.436
m Small_magenta_flower_(from_vine) =
rd 0.0777697

can be converted to:

<regular_tabulated>
<start_wavelength>0.4E-06</start_wavelength>
<end_wavelength>0.7E-06</end_wavelength>
<num_values>31</num_values>
<values>
0.0788 0.1019 0.1203 0.131 0.1352 0.1363 0.1311 0.1206 0.1051 0.0895 0.0762 0.0663 0.0576 0.0516 0.0483 0.0472 0.0478 0.051 0.0576 0.071 0.0952 0.1278 0.1593 0.1859 0.2109 0.2392 0.2672 0.2794 0.2966 0.3603 0.436
</values>
</regular_tabulated>

I don't know how convert rd (diffuse reflectance) in Indigo, maybe phong IOR

search on google for radiance mgf for others... "

Very nice job !!!

I stoped using Indigo some month ago with the 2.x commercial issue. But your job call me back to the old free Indigo with plug for C4D.
Thanks, many thanks !

I tested it since a month on C4D 11, but I just upgrade to 11.5 and I have a problem : in the render setting I can't find the "Indigo Render Setting" like in the v11 and so I can't have a good render.
It is a "normal" bug going with the new C4D 11.5 ? I will be so sad if I would not use the old free Indigo with the new C4D :(

That was one of the problems back then, perhaps you could use the current plugin (2.2) without using any of the new features... or you can kindly ask for a 11.5 release ;)

Cindigo 2.2 should mostly work with 1.1.18 if you do a little of igs editing (for the light layer names) and just dont use the new features. (motion blur, absorption layer, etc).

A R11.5 build of Cindigo 1.1.18 is not possible.
