Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
Oh... than all that stuff with Poser-PLA-animated characters is obsolete? Damn.
Where is the problem? Is it badly documentated by Maxon?
I tried to load an OBJ-sequence into C4D with numerous plugins... and surrendered.

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
you could of course use an animated mesh sequence with indigo (if the support for that would not be broken in cindigo currently ^^), also with motion blur, but motion blur would not work proberly becase it can only work with non animated objects.
it would only show blur of the object moving as a whole, but not for a part of the the animated mesh (like a waving arm or something).

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
Hm.
Can you give some sort of technical description for dummies on that?
As I understood Indigo and unbiased renderers, everything should be possible here... a larger fstop should be the same like "mergin the actual picture with all the action going on x frames before and y frames after that".
Or am I wrong?
Well, probably.

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
basically only rigid transformations are possible, so rotation / scaling / translating (with keyframes). in the case of a waving arm, that's possible only if you split the person object into torso / shoulder / bicep / forearm / hand etc; things like metaballs or shattering objects etc are currently not possible.
i've suggested a complex extension to nick that allows unstructured mesh animation, but it's quite tricky to do...

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
Ah, alright.
But this is some sort of traditional object-based motionblur, isn't it? So what we need is real camera motionblur.
As I understood all new unbiased renderers aren't able to handle complex or mesh animation during exposure time... is that the reason?

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
nope, it's real object and camera motion blur. check out the recent moth drawn to a flame image
it's really the other way around: image-based hacks and tricks can't work in a physically-based framework; that's why handling unstructured motion is a tricky problem.

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
im going to release Cindigo 2.2.9 (with a few ISL shader nodes

YES!
As I offered you, when you tell me what do do and to have installed, I can build it for you, too...
but I understand the licence problem.

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
Hallo zusammen

english:
I changed the way the sun direction works in 2.2.8 but forgot to metion it
The way it works now is, that the sun position is obtained by the direction of the z axis of the object selected as sun.
---------------------------------------------------------------
sorry guys, no realease of cindigo 2.2.9 / cindigo 2.2 stable today... got some problems to get the mac vm to work :S
(it basically works, but my core 2 duo at work does not support IVT so its dead slow
)
too bad... thats nott possible, zeitmeister

Re: Cindigo 2.2.8
Nothing for ungood, Yves!
I like the workflow with the z-axis very much... IMHO it's the only way it makes sense, and to get a basic idea of the sun location in C4D.
