Changelog:
3.4.0
* GPU acceleration using OpenCL is now faster.
* Made some optimisations to the render core.
* Fixed memory leak with GPU acceleration resulting in GPU acceleration startup eventually failing.
* Fixed rare problem where scenes would render black with bidir enabled, due to light medium issue.
* Optimised IES lights: IES lights now render much faster.
* IES parsing is now more robust. Almost all IES profiles should now be handled.
* Made interior lights be sampled more, relative to the background light.

Code: Select all

* Made interior lights be sampled more, relative to the background light.
How does that work?

It's automatically done.

L'accélération GPU avec OpenCL est vraiment plus rapide, la vitesse doublée sur une même scène. 400k ~ 500k samples/s auparavant, 800k ~ 1000k samples/s dorénavant.

Bon boulot ! : )

First row is 3.4 below 3.2.12 @ 15s 60s 240s

I would say it's a massive improvement, about 4x or more!

is the GPU speed-up only for OpenCL?

also the bundled Blendigo says "unsupported version v.3.4.0"

Yup, it's just for OpenCL.

Sorry to veer off slightly, but any word of an updated Blender exporter for Blender 2.63 or 2.64? I've started using those for production since they seem to handle loads of geometry better and they have some great modeling improvements, but the biggest thing lacking is a working Blendigo...

I have a scene with about 24 IES lights, in 5 layer. The 3.4.0, on OpenCL (on GTX 680) Starting out very well. at about 500k Samples/ Sec,. but after 15 hours of render it now only gives 24k samples/ per seconds.
I have done this same project ( differnt views ) on Bi MLT with 165k Samples / Sec "constantly" for 48 hours and tried over PT which also gives 375k Samples / Sec. ( Indigo 3.2. ) "constantly". I reckon the initial gain of 500k Samples / Sec (indigo 3.4). was an illusion, as it was over long period of render gives only 24K samples.

I have rendered a scene for about 12 hour, It started with 500K Samples / Sec. and end at only 24K Samples / Sec.

Hi maleemk,
Could you please send us the scene (packed to a PIGS file), so we can try it out?
Please email it to support@indigorenderer.com if it's not too big, or host it on something like dropbox and send us the link.

thanks!

Hi Tom,
as I'm sure you're aware by now, we're working on updating Blendigo to work with Blender 2.63 currently.
It should be done by tomorrow or sometime next week, with a bit of luck.
