Really, how does it kill it what happens? Have you tried just using console mode of indigo?

That shouldn't be happening - indigo under wine is no less stable than linux indigo.
Sounds like a bad stick of ram, overheating, something.

I keep getting obstacle map (w+h) should be power of 2, I try to render a 1024x768 test scene, and my obstacle map is 2048x1536 what am I doing wrong?
I hope it's not a square power, that would be like 1048576 X 589824.... and I just don't have that type of RAM to handle these type of things

Obstacle map must be square and it's sides must be a power of 2 so 512x512, 1024x1024, 2048x2048 etc. Pick one

Ah, then that's an internal wine regression. File a bug report.

How do I get those cool glare effects?. All i am getting is a little fuzzy bit of different colours around my blackbody emitter, not a cool lil star thingy like on the first page...
Do I just have to render it for ages?

I have been playing around with settings but I can't get very sharp lines like in the first post even though I have played around with all the settings lots. Maybe I need an obstacle map but I have no idea what that is for.
