PC versions almost always gets released before Mac versions do.. And how does this even remotely effect you, Neo?

Hehe...
every time before we mac users had to wait, so this time it's vice versa... just keep cool! :-)

I just wanted to note that as I can see that 2.4.4 seems to run 120% faster here than the official 2.2.12.

atMonitor says that the GPU is not being involved... but I'm not sure wether this is being displayed correctly or not, or if atMonitor recognizes OpenCL correctly...

but anyway; that is really awesome.

I can't see wether this is caused by the use of OpenCL or not, because I have no tool for the mac which shows the GPU activity...

Indigo 2.4.4 is not using the GPU :)
This is a pure CPU speedup!

Ah...

totally cool. Can't wait until OpenCL is going to be implemented. You plan to do this, or did I misunderstood something?

Yup, definitely on the roadmap :) We actually already have OpenCL support working, it's just not optimised yet.

Both OpenCL and CUDA will be available for Mac and Linux.

Upss... I have contrary results on performance of the 2.4.4 build, with the Caterpillar scene, 2.2 goes to 400.000 spp aprox, but 2.4.4 stays at a mere 200.000 spp. ¿Maybe Indigo is running without using all CPU resources?
I have an iMac with a Core i7, 8 Gb RAM and OSX 10.6.

Thanks.

Juan, can you confirm that you're using the updated build posted by fused? That does sound strange, and if it is indeed the case with the latest build I'd appreciate it if you could send us your scene file - thanks!

Hey Lyc.
I tried last night both builds, first the Fused one, then yours, with the same results. Scene is the caterpillar one that comes with distribution packages. Tonight I´ll repeat the test with more scenes, I´ll tell you! I wish I´ve done something wrong...

Thanks.
