Thanks for your quick and helpful comments, everyone. I've solved the problem. It was indeed a problem of coplanar faces. Vectorworks doesn't seem to know or care about normals or coplanar faces and exports a slightly problematic mesh. The answer seems to be to turn all 3d elements into generic soli...

Church Interior
Below is my first Indigo render. It's a WIP interior of a church, obviously. No materials other than diffuse white right now. However, I think it's obvious that I've got some trouble with my mesh.
