objectId in bump
I'm using objectId and it works well in diffuse_albedo, but I'm having some trouble with it in bump. objectId demo.jpg Top row is noise driven by objectId in diffuse_albedo, and the pattern seems to change. Bottom row is the same for bump, but doesn't seem to change. diffuse_albedo def eval(vec3 pos...

Re: Indigo Renderer GPU acceleration
CoolColJ: We'll of course try to put as much flexibility in the rendering engine as possible, though it's a little too early to say exactly what - we'll see once the beta is out! I agree with CoolCoJ, the ability to move the lights & camera around inside indigo would be fantastic! But thats further...

Re: Another Layered Skin
Thanks! Hair +1. This material is similar to Whaat's material here (nice work!), tho' the one I use is blended with a phong material and has bump, exponent & absorption layer maps. <medium> <name>skin_medium</name> <precedence>10</precedence> <basic> <ior>1.2</ior> <cauchy_b_coeff>0</cauchy_b_coeff>...

Re: absorption layer transmittance test
Thanks everyone! awesome! what's your sss material settings? The absorption is 0/0/0, scatter is uniform 300 & phase is uniform. The texture itself was 255/255/255 white with a 0/0/255 blue bar, used as the absorption_layer_transmittance in a glossy_transparent material. When I rendered it in the ma...

absorption layer transmittance test
Messing with the absorption layer transmittance parameter. bluebar_phong.png bluebar_sss.png In the sss version, notice how the blue scatters below the surface - its a thing of beauty & wonder! The sss version is darker, but I assume that is from the scattering, since I've never been able to get a p...

Re: Indigo 2.2.9
* Caching energy-loss compensation curves on disk for faster scene startup. * GUI: Added 'Ask before quitting' option. * GUI: Added 'Ask before closing scene' option. Thanks for these! thread priority can be set by the command line option --thread_priority [belownormal | normal]. and this, too.

Re: Indigo 2.2.8
Thank you very much! Some things I noticed... I really like that the Options dialog remembers its previous state. Sadly, however, it doesn't read the tags (from the ini or igs) if they are present. (I tried these: info_overlay, watermark, frame_upload_period and save_igi) When rendering is paused, t...

I haven't tried it, but I've heard good things about a procedural texture generator called MaPZone:

By the way, neo0., it seems that your images are displaying really dark.
Does anyone else see that?

But what a great way to do motion blur! Below is an example of 18 renders stacked together. The idea is to render for a few minutes, stop, move the geometry, then resume the render. This way a blurred image will build up in the .igi. With a script to do the work, its not that different from a normal...
