SKindigo won't start, and materials can't be unpacked.
Hi! I just installed Sketchup 8+Indigo 3.2.16 (licensed) on my brand new laptop with Windows 8, and SKindigo won't start up. When I press the "Render"-button, nothing happens. Launching Indigo itself works. Ruby console gives me this when launching Indigo from Sketchup: Error: #<Errno::ENOENT: No su...

Re: First rendering - tips and tricks?
Hello alffrad! I can try to explain, but I'm not quite sure I know how I did it myself :D The material itself is a blend between two materials. curtain_main (blends two other materials with this this linen texture; b=-1, c=1) -→B: nullmaterial -→A: curtain_blend blends two other materials by a const...

New computer - I need some good advice!
My PSU went to computer hell some days ago, and I'm in doubt wether to buy a new one and let my computer last another year or two, or use this as an opportunity to get a whole new computer. I hope you guys will have some advice on what to do, and what's most economic. Of course, I'll be working most...

Re: First rendering - tips and tricks?
Just a minor update. I experienced something weird with the curtains. The curtain in the middle is all clear, which the one on the right, which is exactly the same, just copied, is full of noise? Any remote idea what could be the cause? I've rendered with BiDir+MLT now, and the image seems a lot bet...

Re: Light dots on my planes - where do they come from?
Bidirectional Path Tracing seems to do the trick! 51 minutes, 340 spp.

Re: Light dots on my planes - where do they come from?
With path tracing (the first attempt was with MLT):

It looked good till about 30 minutes in, then fireflies started appearing. Is this the same as color bleeding?

Light dots on my planes - where do they come from?
Hi, guys! I'm redoing this scene in Sketchup just for getting used to Indigo. The problem is mostly with the grey wall. At first, it looks 100% grey, but after rendering for some 5 minutes I start to get light brown dots all over the wall (and on the chairs too). What do they stem from? Is it reflec...

Re: First rendering - tips and tricks?
I found your post about instancing ( http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=87081#p87081 ), and finally I understand how to use it properly :D And it seems like it helped a lot RAM-wise! I tweaked the curtain material a bit, and now I finally think I have it the way I wanted - a bit tra...

Re: First rendering - tips and tricks?
I suppose I could redo the sofa with RoundCorner (downloaded first after I had made the sofa :P ). I'll use the vacation to ponder whether to buy the SubdivideandSmooth-plugin or not! It looks really nice, though... I hadn't thought about a clerestory section at all! Now it just have curtains all ov...

Re: First rendering - tips and tricks?
Thanks for the welcome! I made some "quick" updates before I take vacation, so I'll just upload a new version before I take off for some days. Among other things I've changed the bamboo and lily to a diff-difftrans material, and the pillows and carpet has been changed to a silk material. I've also r...

First rendering - tips and tricks?
Hey everyone! I'm a beginner with rendering and 3d in general, but I thought I'd use my summer vacation to become as good as possible with Indigo. I've decided to try and get the most out of Sketchup, and I've decided to try and make a couple of interior renderings every week. So I really hope to le...

Haven't received license yet
Hello, first time poster here. I payed for my educational license on Friday, and sent an email with student identification and a copy of an email from my faculty to sales@indigorenderer.com, and I still haven't heard from them. I also sent an email to support@indigorenderer.com today, and no reply f...
