Re: lighting and/or settings help

bubs:

When you say not to use a brightness of more than 80... where is that controlled? I think I am missing it.

Re: lighting and/or settings help

No no no noooooooo: Not true! Its only (!!!) a tonemapping value that doesn't interfere with rendering at all!! So where is the grain coming from, if not the ISO? and how do I reduce it? bubs: Thanks for all the input, I will play around with my lights... I know they are over-complicated. I have so...

Re: lighting and/or settings help

Also think about upgrading to Indigo 3.8, since you seem still to work with an ancient sketchup exporter 3.6.28.3 I think I am actually only a little behind. The SU exporter currently on the site is 3.6.28.4... they are separate versions Indigo Renderer and the Exporters. Or am I missing something?

lighting and/or settings help

I have been using Indigo for a few years now and love it. There is one constant issue I can't seem to solve. Ever render seems to be dark and grainy, regardless of my lights and camera settings. I have a 10' x 10' room set up with black background I put several light sources with a lumen setting of ...

Re: Arrroway Textures with SketchUp and Indigo

A lot of great input... thanks a lot. The endgrain trick makes sense. I am really hoping that someone using SketchUp will chime in though. Perhaps I am just being thick... but I just don't get it. I sort of understand how to UV Map... it seems like just positioning the textures correctly in SU... bu...

Arrroway Textures with SketchUp and Indigo

Hello there, I was hoping someone would have a few tips for me. I am new to Indigo and photo rendering in general... so I don't know all the terms and such. I got Arroway's wood volumes. I use SketchUp for modeling. I am hoping someone can help with workflow. I can't seem to get anywhere near the lo...

Computer speed question

I currently have a MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz dual core with 4GB Ram and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB graphics card. I was considering upgrading to the new MacBook Pro but I was wondering if I would see a marked difference in my render time. The new computers are 2.4 GHz quad core with 8GB RAM and AMD Ra...

Render Queue question

After some playing I finally figured out how the Render Queue works. I can't find anything that explains it in the manual or on the website. My question is: After you set it up to render to a certain samples per pixel or time... and it runs through all the scenes in your queue... then what? How do I...

Re: Modeling Water

Ok... I am doing something wrong... perhaps someone can help. I attached a SketchUp model and my rendering of a glass of water which I did according to the specs in the Technique Manual. I used 2 different materials for the Glass and Water, applied the presets in Indigo (Water and Glass accordingly)...

Re: Modeling Water

I see what was happening. On my computer, the pull down menu items don't open the actual page, just the pull down list which doesn't have the indigo manual.

Thanks for the info, I will read it.

Re: Modeling Water

Perhaps this is one of my problems... Technical Manual? I only have the SketchUp Manual. Where can I get the Technical manual? Under documentation on the website there seems to be only the manuals for the specific exporters.

Re: Modeling Water

Thanks for your input. I downloaded Blender and frankly it seems very difficult to use. I know I may never get photorealistic in SketchUp, but it would be nice to get decent results. I tried modeling a glass of water and the water keeps rendering black. Is there something I am missing? I tried it fl...
