Exit portals is not a good solution. Every time you reduce the accurancy of Indigo is a bad decision.
Exit portals don´t work well since too many time ago! But ONO explained some progresses don´t materialized some time ago.

What is the problem of render a overnight in MLT bidirectional mode with yhe pmoney that you earn with your work?
Is necesary to run so fast (two minutes)?
You don´t model the furniture, only the envelope of the rooms!

To play "saloncitos de pin y pon" is an easy way to get a life!

I'm not using the exit portals to render fast, I'm just expermint with exit portals how to make the scene not to look dark in some areas, the Image that you see already doesn't have exit portals

Try to put the portal behind the window.

Don´t woorry, is a principiant fail . Even when Indigo is the simpliest program to this kind of workflow, sometimes is easy to make a mistake...

Put the exit portal in the outside of your room,
