@WytRaven:
Thanx for sharing, my main griefs aren't with what happens under the hood, but with the new steps, often more, which happens to accomplish (what before were) simple things.

It's a bit like if you had entered home while expecting the furniture to be moved and find that along with it an all set of divisions have been moved .

There was no real problem from 95 to 98 to XP, these were migrations which took the past experience, improved on and rely on a common ground. I don't have any special problem that they make an OS to all those new users, but as I don't belong to that group I'm obviously not to experience all these benefits, beside I don't have the time nor the patience to learn new dog's tricks, to do more to actually do the same.

In short, if I had vista disguised as XP I wouldn't mind, all these improvements under the hood are obviously good, I just don't need to reinvent the way I interact with the computer for the sake of it, I have OSX for that, an OS with has a guidance, which due to it's size doesn't suffer from the democratic disease that Windows lingers, where you can have multiple ways of doing the same thing due to this. I just want the best one, and can live with that, now if only this aqua windows were rendered with Indigo... :roll:

Yeah that's pretty much what I was referring to earlier when I made reference to self proclaimed computer geniuses suddenly finding them selves lacking in the genius part. :lol:

By the way while I'm thinking about it if there are people that don't like the new aero interface, for whatever reason, then don't forget that "Classic" mode is still there in Vista.

One can only hope it happens one day, then everyone will be happy...is WxWidgets available for OSX? Never checked to see...

By classic ,mode you're saying changing skin (like xp regarding 2k) or actually change the way things operate so that it fits with XP modus operandi?

That's right, I am an engineer too... no mom I won't tell I'm a smart boy, they know it already 8) :lol:

Hey simply put vista takes ressources, the good point is if it can do it smoothly. You lack these ressources when they come to lack to Indigo (mostly ram for geometries and textures I guess), until then why bother ? Tastes and colours ? bah !

What I noticed through time with m$ id how control was progressively hidden to the user, to a point, and how "helpers" (interfaces for dummys and such) where a pain to manage a system wisely. More eye-candy makes me feel that the user is just a mammal, what about functionality ? Well, I never ran Vista anyway...
