Oscar's rendering thread
Re: Oscar's rendering thread
It is very reflective indeed. Did you use exponent or absorbtion layer maps in order to tame reflections a bit, depending on which applies ? I might be getting tricked by reality but I can't miss a certain CG look here... being picky because you're good of course !

Thanks for you comment!
Some renders just need more reflections to "pop". These days I try to focus just as much on the artistic part of the compositions as on photorealism.
Besides, Koenigsegg use seven layers of clear coat on their cars, three times thicker than on other cars, have a look:

Btw, you should definitely contact Koenigsegg and show them your renderings. Make they will employ you to render previews of their next supercar

Believe me, I have considered doing just that for a very long time, but it's a great encouragement hearing you say that. One day...
Oscar's rendering thread
It's not only the numbers of layers they use. Most manufacturers even higher end luxury car brands including the on I am working for have some orange peel left to hide small imperfections. A very old industrial design trick. The folks at Koenigsegg completely polish this out.

With your portfolio I would contact a bunch of agencies who do commercials print & animated for car companies. Lie about you age and grab some nice freelancing jobsOscar J wrote:Believe me, I have considered doing just that for a very long time, but it's a great encouragement hearing you say that. One day...
Customers aren't interested about the education we have or about our looks, only thing they are interested in is what we do, our work output, and if we can deliver what they want in time!
Go for it dude!

Thanks guys for the encouragement!
Had a go at a B&W shot. Tried to get a kind of Bond-y feel to it.

Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Thank you!
I do render other stuff as I get some freelance visualisation work from time to time, most of which I can't show here.
Point taken though.

Here's an attempt at an ad-style render of a Bentley Continental.
