Thanx mate! :D :D :D ;)

edit: Quick question: Is the spectrum element
for meshlights fixed in this version? ;o))

edit 2: If you are not aware of it, try to export a meshlight
with the spectrum option and you'll get an I/O error that says that
the file for the geometry is not open ... ;) Thanx for your time! :D

Thanx! :D :D :D :D :D ;)

edit: Erm, ... :D ... a lil wish. Could you please make it possible
to save the Rendersettings too? You know Large Mutation, Max Mutation Size, ... etc.
And just a small glitch, if bidirectional is enabled you can
blend Russian Roulette out ...

btw. As far as Nick mentioned, your default settings are a bit off,
especialy the low settings for Russian Roulette. So you should use
Nicks default settings as M2I default. Like this ...:

Large Mutation: 0.4
Max Mutation Size 0.02
Russian Roulette: 0.7

And one more thing, ... if I want to render directly out of 3dsmax
I have to save the scenefile into indigo root and not the scene dir,
hmm ... not really what I need. :P :D ;) I would also like to see an
option like the "Save Image as" option for the texture directory.
I don't want to have the textures for all projects in one folder.

Like this ...:

Path to Textures: projects/project1

... this would be translated into: textures/projects/project1

Well, ... no pressure, but I would like to see it if you have the time
to get something like this working. :D :D :D ;)

Thanx U3Dreal!

Hmm. concerning the folders...

the best thing would be indigo could use full path for textures and anything else.... i wait for that ...

I'll have a look at the independent texture dir... but then you will have to create procedurals and HDRI dir as well in scenedir.. :(

cheers

Ahhhhhh .... pleaso no full path, it is the worst thing that you could use,
just think about it. :P :D ;)

indigo take the scenedir as root ... so the HDRI will have to be in subrootdir and for procedurals as well ...
Or not ?

Erm, ... nope ... as far as I noticed Indigo is using its root dir as
root ... so everything has to start from it. You are doing this
already and it is all good for the textures.

Actual situation:

Code: Select all

Indigo
      -HDR
      -Textures
So now you export the textures to this path: textures/image.jpg

I would like to get an option where tha variable will be inserted into
the string like this:

value: projects/project1
output: textures/projects/project1/image.jpg

Thanx mate! :D ;)

Ah Ok :D

but then you have to copy all the scene textures to this folder...

i'll have a look .

At this point I'm doing this, because I have to do it. Since Indigo
is searching the textures in a subfolder. What I do know is to
put them into a subfolder and then run a 'search and replace'
on the .xml.

A lil bug I found in your exporter v0.61: If I disable the export
geometry option and try to export just the other stuff it is
doing nothing. ;o)

Ahhhh, ... know I found what I meant for the 'Run Indigo' problem.
It looks like you are starting Indigo like this:

Indigo.exe file.xml

But you should use this instead:

Indigo scenes/file.xml

With other words. If I'm trying to save and run the file directly the
file isn't found because Indigo is looking in the root dir and not in
the scene dir. ;o)

Thanx for your hard work mate, what would a 3dsmax user without ya! :D :D ;)

PS.: Gruesse aus Berlin nach Ulm. Schon wieder zu Hause? ;o)

Hmm, ... well then I dunno. If I try to run Indigo from your script
it starts indigo but I can tell that it is trying to open the scenefile
from the root dir not the scen dir. So what am I doing wrong here?

:D :D :D ;)

Regarding the bug I thought I've found. It is no bug, but your script is
not giving any feedback that it actually overwrites the files without
asking ... *LOOOL* :D :D ;) Had to play a bit to find that out. Maybe
you should mention this in the readme, better to report in the
Status display that the export of the settings and materials has
been successful. ;o)
