Maxigo 2.2 beta - 1.Feb 2010

Hi all,
Maxigo 2.2 beta is ready for testing.
This is a major update for Maxigo. I took geometry export out of maxscript and rewrote it in C++. The result was a nice speed increase. New version is 6-8 times faster (depending on a scene). There is still room for some optimisation though. Also render time mesh is supported. For example You can now use Render Values under MeshSmooth modifier.
One quick experimental new feature I added is random material gamma. You can pick one or multiple materials which will get random gamma value during the export. Might be good for large amount if instances or smth. I just fooled around and left it in. Maybe it's useful to someone?

Installer is also new. Let me know any installation problems you run into.

Download: Maxigo_2.2-beta

I made a side by side comparison video between the old and new version. Just for fun :)

Change log:

Code: Select all

Changes in v.2.2:
======================
* changed - Geometry export converted to native C++ plugin (faster export times)
* changed - Material export is more optimised
* changed - Light layers counting starts from zero
* changed - New installer (includes all supported Max versions)
* added - support for Absorption layer transmittance
* added - Render-time mesh support (Render Values of modifiers like Meshsmooth, etc.)
* added - Randomize material gamma function under main exporter panel (experimental)
* added - Luminous Emittance, Luminous Intensity and Luminous Flux light units under Indigo Main material
* added - 'Lights' category to Online Material browser
* added - Linear tone mapping

Let me know any bugs you find.

Take care,
Suvakas

Hi all !!!

First of all suvakas, thank you for this great great job, thank you for your efforts

I was working on a job with previous version of Indigo, it was ok... but 10 min ago i uninstalled it and installed new version. When i click export button, i see an error even if i create a new, 1 box 1 emitter scene...

My 3ds Max version is 2010 - 64 bit, and i choose it while installing...Indigo version is the last version.

Posting my print screen:

Thank you for the report Otk.
Seems like the new export plugin has not been loaded for you.
I'll investigate it.

It's on 100mbit line. Don't know why it was/is slow for Soup.
I have my own reasons why I host betas in my own server. Mostly related to statistics.
