Hey all,
I think it's time to bring Maxigo out of beta.
If there are no major bugs found, then I can upload it to the main 3ds Max download page.

One of the new features in this release is material presets. You can now create some basic material types with only a few mouse clicks. There are currently 5 different categories available: Glass, Liquids, Plastic, Metal and Other. Presets are loaded dynamically from .igm files inside Maxigo/Presets folder so they are easily extendable.

There is also one new preview model called "Waves". I think it could be good for testing SSS materials. (see the image below).

[update - Maxigo 2.0.12a]
I hopefully fixed the bug where material parameters appeared under Utilities panel after loading a scene.

You can download Maxigo from this link:
Maxigo 2.0.12a

Code: Select all

Changes in v.2.0.12a:
======================
* fixed - Indigo material parameters appeared under Utilities panel after loading a scene
* fixed - Linked materials can be used inside Indigo Blend material (nested blends still not supported)

Code: Select all

Changes in v.2.0.12:
======================
* added - Presets for common material types (Glass, Liquid, Metal, Plastic)
* added - New material preview model - "Waves" (good for testing SSS materials)
* added - Image refresh interval to Render Material dialog
* added - material file download is cancelled after closing the online MDB window
* fixed - dotNet error after closing the online MDB window during download
* fixed - error when using Indigo Emitter material inside Indigo Blend material
* fixed - material preview when linking new material over mat. that has emission enabled
* fixed - Exit Portal warning dialog
* fixed - Reseting IndigoMain material
* fixed - Storing .ini values after clean installation (fixes empty Indigo and temp.path issue)
* changed - Bump values are presented in millimeters now
* changed - Menu Item handling improved

It's a bit slow since the exporter is written in Maxscript and script is quite slow when dealing with large amounts of vertecies and faces.
But the good news is, that I'm already working on some C++ code to speed up the process. So the next gen Maxigo will be a lot faster. (read next gen and not next version :wink: )

Suvakas - maxigo 2.0.12 generates strange error after loading the scene:

When the material switches from the diffuse to phong etc. everything back to normal.

So you can confirm, that the 2.0.12a fixed it for you?
If it did, then I can update the main download link too.
