Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Just the decimal symbol. It all works great now!
I had a little testing session last night. I hope you release some tuts about the use of shaders soon

Thank you CTZn !
Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Hei suv! Noob question: is it possible to specify a focal point when not using the autofocus option?
Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Then the focal point is your camera target.
Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Oh, ok!
I didn't know that target cameras were correctly exported.
BTW, I think that a good implementation would be a "pick focal point" check. This because, as things are now, the subject has to stay in the center of the scene in order to be the only thing in focus, when sometimes it is cool to have the subject uncentered and the rest of the scene blurred out of focus on the background..
Don't know if it's possible though..

Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
No, it doesn't have to be in the center. DOF is determined by the target distance from the camera. It doesn't matter If the object is centered to the cam or not.
Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Oh yes I know.
But I also know that equidistant points from a specific point (focus) make a circle, or a sphere if you think 3Dwise. An object that is central is inside the "on focus" sphere, because of what you said, is indeed on focus. If I move the object from the center of the sphere, that is actually the focus point (that is the target of the camera), I'll be be going gradually out of focus, the more I'm moving the subject away from the center.
I'll try to render what I mean. Indeed, I need to test what I'm saying, I'm just rambling a little..

OK...I've been saying a load of bulls**ts.
Sorry Suv.
I still have to learn a lot.

First maxigo test!
Happy to post!
I did some SSS tests too, indeed..But it seems that I accidentally deleted them..

Cool!
A bit out of focus, maybe?

Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Yes indeed. That's odd by the way, because I put the target of the camera right in the center of the subject..
By the way, first tests: don't expect too much from them

Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Yep, the center is in focus. I can see, that the extruded thing on top of his head is sharp. That means, that your focal point is well.. in the center of the statue. You should not place it to the center, but to the same level with the frontal part. If you are taking a picture using a real life camera, then you can't focus to the center of a person. You would have to focus to some other body part like nose, face, etc. Hard to explain. You have to move your target a bit back towards the camera to the same level with the face or smth.Pibuz wrote:Yes indeed. Re: Maxigo 2.0 - beta2 - [3.august.2009]
Hi Suv!
Here is another very basic render with Indigo/Maxigo.
Exit portals are used for the windows, apart from that only a diffuse grey material and sun/sky environment.
I tweaked a little the sun and sky balancing, and I changed the camera response function, but I did not do any other post process outside Indigo at all (excepted a small image resizing in PS).
Still testing. Perhaps adding textures?
