Hello guys, and congratulations for the community

I'm starting using Indigo (first i tried MtI, and now I'm launching from max using Maxigo).

Can you help me to learn the process to light and scene using a IES file?
May I use an emitting geometry? or just a null with a ies attached?

I'm lost in this field.

Thank you very much

Hey,
Just use a photometric light with your IES file in WEB field.

As I understand, I must create a Photometric light in Max, select a web template (i.e. Stadium 1000w Lamp - web), and load the ies file from the indigo installation folder under the Distribution (Photometric Web) tab. Isn't it?

Doing so, I only get a black render with a tiny white point where the lamp is.
May I select something in the indigo panel to tell indigo to render photometric max lights?
Did I forget doing something?

Thank you for your quick reply.

This is from an old thread (don't look at the rendering, no IES there). The red areas should be the ones that are important. It really only is about setting the distribution to web and loading your IES file under Web parameters.

I did what you told me and now it's working properly.

Many many thanks! :D
