Hej There,
As I searched throughout the forums this question asked several time.
How to make a mirror material in max.
Without touching the xml files.
Is that possible? (latest maxigo version)
If possible please write me an example parameters.
Somehow I was unable to make it.
Thanks for the help.

Hm, you just have to reflect everything... Btw. mirrors IRL have a thin silver film on the back side, so maybe you can use the silver nk-file as well.

Hey,
Use Non-transparent glass material with high IOR value. Higher IOR = more reflective.

According to
http://deeppixel.uw.hu/projects/NK_materials.html Diamond works like you described...
I'm not sure, but nk Files seem to describe _only_ the reflection of a material, not the refractive part, so the diamond NK file might be correct but not give you the expected results.

Hey jinj,
You could start with these settings and tweak from there.
It's based on ZomB's material:
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... ht=diamond
i don't know how physically accurate it is though.

thank's for replyng Suvakas.
I try this setting. I know that ior value for diamond 2,419 is.
in maxwell if you flag ''use full ior'' the ior file can be used to simulate the real material whitout any other setting.
I open whit wordPad the IOR file and the nk data file containing diamond data. so The two files contain exactly the same information, listed in the same mode. So i Think that the exporters translate the two information in two different mode.
Thank's again.

The thing is, that the transparent NK files are not working in Indigo.

Mirror being a perfect reflection should use a specular material, isn't that defined in maxindigo?

I attempt this setting. I realize that ior esteem for precious stone 2,419 is.
in Maxwell in the event that you banner ''utilize full ior,'' the ior record can be utilized to reproduce the genuine material without some other setting.
I open whit WordPad the IOR document and the ink information record containing jewel information. so The two records contain the very same data, recorded in a similar mode. So I Imagine that the exporters interpret the two data in two diverse modes.
