But maybe I have same problem in my indigo/maxigo installation, even if it's strange because I followed three time the tutorial "how to install"

Yeah, same here actually :lol:
But on my Pc at work the console.exe didn't start without those dll's (or at leas one of them).
Hey Ono, what files are needed to run console.exe ?

I'm sure you have reasons for doing things the way you do, but can you not just start

in the batch file rather than trying to copy all the .exe and .dll files to the preview folder?

hi suv...as i can remember this problem with previews is not new ..also in the previus version of maxigo users have problems such this...(me too)....
some times the previes works perfect and after a use of the material editor just stop to make update of the preview...a really strange behavious...
also at mine pc this happents only if the materials i tryes use some textures....on simple difuse or phongs working fine...

btw i dont care about preview.....the real previews is the render it self..:P

I don't remember what the reason was, but I'm sure there was one :lol:
But you're probably right. I should change it to run the console.exe from the original location.

Nope, can't change it. I need to have a separate log file from the main Indigo app.

Updating problem will probably stay there forever. I have no skills and no interest to solve that at the moment. If it occures, then just click to another material slot and click back to the one that makes the preview. I can't access to external programs or memory from maxscript. This whole material preview thing is a big workaround.

but we cant live without indigo :)

Copied DLL files as suggested in Mat_prev folder , everything is working perfectly now

Hm, can the Commandline renderer render on the network as well? A faster or better preview would be nice sometimes...

Well I guess I'll have to write a larger feature request concerning network abilities of Indigo for Ono! :P

command line renderer works the same over the net. its typically how i have my client machines running while the server machine is running the gui version for viewing the render progress. and previews over the network are much nicer as you said, very quick!

hi all,
A great thanks to Suvakas for the latest exporters.
I resolve my problem with the mat preview in the max mat slot by checking the version of the indigo console in the indigo mat preview folder. I reach that in my folder were an older console version, so I simply copy the console file from the indigo folder and replace it in the indigo mat preview folder.
now all run whit out any problem.
Suvakas are you working on the indigo fur mat? will it added to maxigo in the future?

contralla la indigo console nella cartella dei mat preview, forse è quella relativa al precedente maxigo exporters, in cui nn era ancora presente tale materiale. Basta soffermare il cursore sopra il file indigo console e apparirà la release. io ho testato l'anteprima cn successo su tutti gli indigo mat.

You have to control if the indigo console present in the mat preview folder from the latest version is or from maxigo 1.09.4.

I started thinking and yep, you're right. Maxigo only copies the console.exe to mat_prev folder if it doesn't find one. If there is a newer version of the console under Indigo's root, then the one in the preview folder doesn't get updated.
So yeah, a very good point jinj. I guess I would also have to compare the file sizes.
