U3dreal posted this in another thread:
well the prob is that i don't use max anymore.. so i would code the exporter just for you ppl... and i'm not willing to do this for free.. anymore.
Since i lost my job i'm fed up with doing stuff for free at least for now...
Since max is a commercial program i assume most of the ppl will use my exporter for commercial benefit... so since i don't have anything from that but complains about bugs .. i'm a bit frustrated...
If you really need an exporter and are willing to give something in return we can talk about that ...
so I think there's no more plans for another M2I by U3dreal.

But then there's blend2Indigo!!!

Hello u3dreal,
First i necessity say, your work is very excellent.
For an exporter for charge, I think everybody also would support you.
But, is not now, need to wait for the indigo grow up hereafter.
I hope you can continue to work, we will not forget your work, also will support you(exporter for charge)
Thank's.

Until now Ono wants not one pence for his renderer, and you u3dreal you want to get money for your exporter. unbelievable!
ok this would be an extra effort from you,but ...
i would have an bad feeling when i first pay for an exporter and then for INDIGO!
Good to know that there are another exporter builders for Blender.

Hi all Hi tungee,
maybe of you go through the post you might get my intetion.
First of all i only will give the ppl the possibility to donate.
You don't have to donate to use the exporter then.
But if someone finds my tool helpful and gets the job done with it
he might consider sharing some of his earnings with me.
So noone gets force to donate. I don't see your problem here why
it shouldn't be free after all.Lets see it as an experiment on how many
ppl give my work some value.
For free is always the look of the user ..
Since the new indigo version brings alot fo changes to the code it takes some time to code that stuff
..
Ever thought about what you might think after coding for one
year ? Well after all it was great fun but .
Ono also deserves some donation so i hope you all donate for the new server.
No worries about the blender exporter 0.7test1 is almost finished .!
cheers

uREAL3D you are right... probably very soon

Hey people don't start over ! No one has the right to make an honnest statement about fees but OnoSendai, what you say/believe to be probale/want is a nonsense to me. If Ono decides so, that's ok, Indigo is
his baby, but don't push out what's not yours, that's my point
AFAIC, final point.

yaaaaaaaaay!
I also agree with U3dreal's idea. He'd still be releasing his stuff for free, but those of us who find it useful and might use it in a commercial project should, at least by the honor of it, admit he's doing also a tough work coding the exporter and share some $$$$$

This should be an incentive to keep its development going.

Yup, but it's even better to know that now also U3dreal is coding for blender!
probably very soon indigo not will be free...
CTZn is right; please don't start a storm in a glass of water. Or at least take the time to search the forums on this regard. It has been discussed, insinuated, gossiped several times in the forums and Ono has always been clear on his point of view. Indigo is and will remain free!

I don't understand what is the problem!!!anyperson works free!!!I think that for Indigo, that it isn't a open-source, it's possible to pay for exporter!!!but the user that they buy the softwrae, they must have more up-date and some exclusive option!!for example.....the resolution max 600x400.....or logo in the buffer ....or....
The owners of Indgo they are ready to this!!!
u3dreal::for to me it is all right to economically contribute to the exporter?
you tell me what I do.....

Oh boy, oh boy. Some serious statements here. I don't understand where the fun factor is gone? u3dreal almost makes it sound like scripting an exporter is his full time job. Now cmon.. you are not serious, right?

Let's keep it frienly

If you want to continue scripting this great exporter for max then do it. If you dont, then well..do not. As simple as that. The life will go on.
