how to make an animation using blender and indigo

Hello, all.
I'm completely lost as to how to use indigo to make animations. I want to make this animation using indigo because of the excellent caustics. I tried to make an animation using blender and indigo last night, but when my animation was complete, all I had to show for it was alot of .igmesh, .igs, and .png files. To get an animation from these files, I guess I have to somehow sequence all of the .png files together?? Does indigo do the sequencing of the .png files somehow? Do I need another app for this?? What are the .igmesh and .igs files for??

A BASIC (for dummies, even) blender/indigo animation tutorial would be GREATLY appreciated! Does anyone know of any such tutorials?

Thanks,
scatman :?
(sorry if this is a duplicate post, I think I posted this in "Works in progress" too)

Ok... lets sort a few things out here:

*.igs: it's the IndiGo Scene file, it contains all the all the scene settings (tonemapping, whitebalance, save period, ... and sometimes the mesh info if it's not in a separate file).
*.igmesh: it's the IndiGo Mesh file, it contains (when the mesh option is activated) the mesh information (and probably textures too I'm not entirely sure i always leave it off).
*.igm: it's the IndiGo Material file, contains material information if you decide to save it as one entity for use as an external material or to upload it to the database.

(if you ever encouter these files with a p infront e.g: *.pigs its been compressed much like a .zip file)

Now to put all of these pngs in an animation, i guess you could import them in the right order in gimp and export it (I think it can export to .avi and then you could compress the video with windows movie maker or something if youre using windows).

P.S: there are probably free applications on the web you can use to make a movie out of your .pngs you just have to look a bit.

Thanks for explaining those file types to me. I'll cut & paste your response for my own indigo tute. Now, time to get Gimp for Windows...
