hello everyone, just registered, and hence, this is my first post in here. Straight away to the problem.

i am creating an interior scene with the window letting in the sunlight and a lamp inside the room. Now the problem is, the lamp wont shed any light at all. I have tried fiddling with the power, efficacy, emitter type etc etc, but to no avail. As you can see, there is NO light coming from the lamp. There is a simple cube with the emit material inside those lamps. And yes, i have tried everything from linear to reinhard to camera. Please help.

You used sun, right?
It's because the full dynamic range of an Image is far from sufficient to show any lightsource, next to the sun, in correct scales...

If you turn on a light inside a bright, sun-lit room, you might see that it's on, when directly looking into it, but not due to any (visible) colour or intensity change... Only in the shadows you might (probably not) see a bit of an other tint.

The computer screens, currently in use, and so also the stnadard image formats, can't show that at all. (Only HDRis *might* show it, but also only if you turn up the tone mapping a lot, which ends up in very blown-out images where only shadows aren't entirely white....)
